Tory MP suffers at the hands of a Facebook party

Backbencher’s daughter’s do gets out of hand

SOCIAL NETWORKING SERVICE Facebook is likely to be in at least one MPs black books after details of a party at his house spread online and attracted the interest of oiks.

The Government is currently discussing how to manage social networking services like Twitter, Facebook and the Blackberry Messenger communications software during times of social unrest, but Conservative MP Simon Kirby might now fancy the idea of banning them around his children's birthdays.

According to the Daily Mail Kirby's £2.5m mansion was trashed after details of a party held at his house while he was away on his holidays got onto Facebook and spread out of hand.

The Daily Mail reports that his 19-year-old daughter Briony called the police after people started throwing beer cans in the garden and swearing at neighbours. The newspaper adds that while the young Kirby only intended to invite a few of her chums, some 100 yobs turned up and ruined it for everyone.

Kirby's neighbours had an "awful experience" by the Daily Mail's account, while the golf course that lies adjacent to the politicians house also suffered under the yob's trainers as they made their way onto its fairways.

The "mayhem" reportedly began at around 10pm on August 12 and saw a door damaged and a pane of glass broken. The neighbours, it seems, were shocked by the loud noises.

"Around 11pm it suddenly got very noisy. Every light in the house was on and there were people out in the garden and in the back, spilling on to the golf course. There wasn't loud music but there was a lot of shouting," said one.

"I knew her parent must be away because they would never have allowed her to have a party like that. It was very, very loud and boisterous."

Kirby has apologised to his Brighton Marina overlooking neighbours and put his head in his hands while his wife bemoaned the existence of technology. "These days, you have Facebook and mobile phones. You're just stumped," she added. µ

Bloody toffs

It's probably the first time the entirety of that house was being used.

I can't see how someone living in such a place can ever represent the wishes of the majority of the people in this country, simply because they haven't experienced normal life.

And I couldn't give less of a flying duck about the precious grass on a golf course.
