Thu Aug 25 2011, 15:26

AN ALLEGED MEMBER OF HACKTIVIST GROUP Anonymous has been charged by the London's Metropolitan Police Central e-Crime Unit in connection with an investigation into the group.

Peter David Gibson, 22, a student, of Castleton Road, Hartlepool, Cleveland, UK, has been charged with "conspiracy to do an unauthorised act in relation to a computer, with intent to impair the operation of any computer or prevent or hinder access to any programme or data held in a computer or to impair the operation of any such programme or the reliability of such data - contrary to Sec 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977", the Met Police said.

Gibson was arrested by officers from Scotland Yard's Central e-Crime Unit in connection with an investigation into Anonymous, following allegations of DDoS attacks by the group against several companies.

He is due to appear on bail at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 7 September. µ

@NotReally

Your analogy does not fly here, this has nothing to do with anyone coming for me or protecting me. "Anonymous" is not standing up for me, if they are, please tell them to stop its embarassing. This is the problem: your paranoid, conspiracy-theory peppered mind makes you believe "they" are coming for you. I don't believe anyone is "coming" for me therefore I live my life in peace and do not bother others.

@Really

Ever heard of this?

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

haha

Not so "Anonymous" anymore eh? Cannot wait to see more and more of these self-proclaimed "hacktivists" going to prison.

You are not Robin Hoods, you are not saviors of the world. You are simply criminals and you will be caught. I get boundless joy from seeing these articles about hackers being arrested. BOUNDLESS!!

Me, your the idiot, don't lump everyone in part of the planet as being of one mind. But if you want to, how about all English people are inbread and thats why they all have bad teeth? not nice or true is it?
As a person in the USA, I support (morally) hacktvist (that don't do it for personal gain) and will always.
Yeah it's sad and a sham that the law is going after kids and not the criminals the kids are attacking, it's the state of the world, and yeah, your news agencies and cops are as crooked as ours so to you I say, grow up or f off.

Flash Just In

FLASH unrelated news just in, Scotland Yard has been so busy going after the kids ,Anonymous and the rioters, they have been to busy to go after The Rupert Murdock Gang. So far some resignations but no arrests or charges have been laid. Their are reports, lots of brooms sweeping dirt under the rugs, hoping that things quiet down. Just a coincidence that the rioting has forced Prime Minister Cameron to bring in more powerful legislation to stymy free speech and emergency powers to allow him to do what ever he fucking well likes. Since The Rupert Murdock Gang control the media not much more will be brought to the surface other then a few crumbs to make it look like something is being done. We in the media find it strange that many people are all ready asking the question, "What phone Hacking Scandal.""The Government was involved?, say it isn't true". Unless the news item is splashed on the front page of all the Tabloids, Ahh what were we just writing about.

There will be many more

There will be many more arrest and prosecutions of hackers from Antisec. This should prove to be a good lesson to those who think it's OK to hack.

Damned if you don't

"..or prevent or hinder access to any programme or data held in a computer or to impair the operation of any such programme"

Or in other words: 'due to the DDoS lulzsec was unable to hack into the system and gather a load of data' :)
