TAIWANESE SMARTPHONE MAKER HTC will hold an event on 1 September where it is expected to reveal a suite of Windows Phone 7 handsets.
Although the smartphone maker is a big fan of Android, The INQUIRER has spotted a mention of the event on the Windows Phone web page on Facebook.
HTC said on its own Facebook page, "Hey everyone, it's been a while since we last got to see you, so we wanted to invite you to a party!
"We'll have the usual food, drinks and music. For more details, terms and conditions and to RSVP, check out our events page."
Meanwhile, Windows Phone UK said on Facebook, "HTC are having a party on Thursday 1st September and you're invited! Check out more details here."
HTC wouldn't give us any details about the launch, but we think it will feature the HTC Eternity and Omega phones. The Eternity, which runs Windows Mango 7.1, has a 1.5GHz processor as well as 512MB of RAM and WiFi, DLNA and an 8MP camera.
Meanwhile, the Windows 7.1 Mango powered Omega will have a 1GHz processor and will feature a WVGA Super LCD. µ

It seems that Apple and Microsoft are both suing Android handset makers in order to challenge & restrict Google's success: http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-22/microsoft-says-motorola-s-android-phones-infringe-its-patents.html
Andydread, surely you are mixing up MS and Apple?
Apple is suing a number of Android phone makers and are actually actually giving them an incentive to get on the WP7 Mango bandwagon.
The sleazy attempts Microsoft is undertaking by suing open source projects including Android manufacturers precludes us from purchasing or recommending to our customers Windows Phone at the moment. Once Microsoft ends its underhanded litigation campaign against the open source community we will look at and recommend Windows Phone based on its merits. Not a moment before.
