ELECTRONICS FIRM Kogan has revealed what it thinks it the office of the future based around specially made "work pods".
The pods are also known as "Gen Y Chairs" and have been custom made for Kogans office where it now thinks its staff members are in "tech heaven". The chairs have a foot rest, desk space for a laptop, a large monitor and built in speakers.

Kogan's blog says, "You see, the Internet is causing the world to change at a rapid pace and this includes the work environment... We have created new work pods which we think are the future of office spaces around the world."
The chair resembles a gaming chair that you can buy for your games console, only it looks pretty difficult to get into and once you're in there you're probably stuck.

The speakers have volume and bass controls on the back of the chair alongside USB and SD card slots. Kogan said there is heating, massage and a remote to control all the features.
The chairs come in blue, green and orange as far as we know and it looks like they take up a fair amount of room. µ

I think I've seen this before somewhere, but it was a more advanced model:

How would someone who is larger than average fit into that?
Especially over the side as illustrated. A good keyboard is the MOST important item for what appear to be programmers. Get a good heavy one with FIRM touch, like the IBM PCs came with (ebay), or the still available versions of Northgate Omnikey. And trackpads are simply horrible, need a real mouse. And a screen placed just so. And where's the cupholder? One careless movement can spill drink into the portable's keyboard, taking it out, plus a day's work just getting going again. Also, while the race-car slouch is initially appealing, doubt anyone will find the ONE position bearable for long.
By the way, the partial egg shape strongly resembles some wacky chair/pod ideas of the 70's.
A potty
Ergonomic hell though. Someone google images for terms "keyboard" and "posture", before those people get hurt.
Or just tell that boy to stop slouching, maybe.
Yours condemned to use touchscreens only, for the rest of my natural life. Or until, god forbid, my employer switches to Kinect.
I use 2 monitors so I cant see that would be very good for me.
