What is cool, this is a full mini computer on a SD card (ram, flash, cpu, wireless)

it uploads new photos/video when it finds them.

easy to upgrade firmware and to turn features on and off.

My version of the card support geo tagging (it uses local wifi to find out the location based on ip address).

The camera will upload over local lan first to a pc that its assigned to, if it cant find the pc, it uploads to the online service, and the client (pn/iphone )downloads the photos/videos if assigned. iphone app as direct access to the card to view photos if option turned on (direct access).

THere is a version of the card that support RAW format. Also photos/videos on its service can be uploaded for 30 days to share, but storage can be purchased for longer.

The card support hotspot access and an hot spot account. My card came with 1 year free wifi hotspot access.

Anyways this card has been out for a few years, and i only found out about it 4 months ago.

I did not believe the features until i tried it out. I had a gift card to use at bestbuy and didn't want to spend it, but had to before it expired. I saw this EYE Fi card, and thought i would give it a try, and if I'm not happy i could return it in 30 days. Either way i had to use my gift card before it expired.

Well I still have the EYE FI card. And I use it every day. I used it in europe, and at the air ports. And now i doesn't matter if i forget my usb cable, as all i need is my camera and eye fi card and I'm all set.

My iphone app required iphone ios4, so it works on my dads phone and not mine as i have the 3g. I was able to post photos on faceook from the Eye Fi app for iOS on the iphone4.

This card is great for real time weddings. Imagine taking photos and in real time friends can view them on facebook.

Also the card has privacy settings and options to uploads which photos depending on program modes.

THe card is easy to use, good candidate to set to grandpa to take photos and now you get to see those photos and he doesn't need computer experience.

Actually it was really easy for me to setup. I think my little sister could set it up.

I am blown away by this card. I still can't get past all of the features and the fact its a mini pc.

Oh ya, the photos upload pretty quick to the local pc, even to the internet. I think it supports wireless N too.

Eye Fi

Eye Fi does something very similar.

It is a SD card with build in WIFI/ARM processor.

There is also an iOS app that lets communication between the card and/or a pc and/or online storage.

When the Camera is on, the card uploads any photos online (if selected to be able to do this on the pc app/iphone app).

THe iphone app is similar to the PC app, meaning photos taken can be uploaded to the iphone.

To access the card, either turn on the camera, or hook it up to the pc, or plug the SD card in its own SD card reader and plug the USB end of it into usb/AC dongle for power.

Works great ;)

Integrates well with a lot of online services such as facebook, photo bucket, youtube.

I am happy with this app.
There is also 3rd party stop animation program for this card that uploads and inserts photos into an stop animation video as you take them on your camera.

Also for the iphone app, you have access to all camera photos for sharing. This is as close as you can get to be able to use an SD card with your iphone/ipod/ipad etc.

Although I can't wait to try the Kingstons solution, as the Kingstons solution is a standalone unit probably with its own rechargeable battery

Its nice to have a 3rd party solutions available like this, especially when storage on the iphone runs lower and its not expandable (thanks to apple) :)
