Samsung and Apple court date is set for 25 August

Samsung wants to overturn Galaxy Tab ban

KOREAN ELECTRONICS GIANT Samsung will try to overturn Apple's ban on the Galaxy Tab in Europe at a court hearing on 25 August.

On Tuesday this week, Samsung was banned by a German court from distributing its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Europe.

Rival tablet maker Apple had been granted a preliminary injunction against Samsung's latest tablet that runs Google's Android operating system. The ruling temporarily prohibits Samsung from distributing the tablet in Europe, with the exception of the Netherlands.

Apple has also sued Samsung over the Galaxy Tab in the US and Australia as well as in other countries.

According to Reuters, the hearing on 25 August will be followed with a decision within weeks. Samsung has also countersued Apple.

Now Apple has also filed an injunction request at a court in The Hague on three patent, copyright and design infringements to stop the sale of some Samsung products in the Netherlands and block their distribution in the EU via the Netherlands.

Reuters reported that Dutch judge Edger Brinkman told the court yesterday that he will decide the case by 15 September. If he rules in Apple's favour, the injunction will go into effect four weeks later, on 13 October. µ

The MESS Apple has wrought!!

THE YEAR the get to be proclaimed the #1 company by some fashion, they go head-hunting. Doesn't the fact that Apple BORROWED MOST design Q's from LG's Prada. STOLE by job's OWN admission from XEROX PARC, MEAN anything to these so-called ENLIGHTENED courts. Xerox should get a piece of EVERY OS sale that Apple sells. BY THE WAY.. Apple BORROWS it's OS internals from the BSD family!!! WHAT ABOUT THAT? SO re-cap. The GUI from XEROX. EXTERNAL design LG, OS BSD. COME ON GUYS. SOME sharp legal firm ought to be able to kick the courts into seeing what's happening. Apple is a SHYSTER. Peel away the glitter. Just Legal Thugs. Let's BOYCOTT THEM. I'm BUYING MOTOROLA, SAMSUNG, LG, RIM, ANYTHING but Apple. AND I'M encouraging everyone sitting/standing still long enough, to do the same. SHAME. SHAME. STEALers.
