Apple fanboi sleeps on the pavement

Wants an Iphone 5
Tue Aug 09 2011, 15:44

AN APPLE FANBOI is about to join the queue for the Iphone 5, despite rumours that the fruit themed phone maker's next handset won't be out until October.

However, things are not quite what they seem. It appears marketing manager for US app developer MEDL Mobile Rob Shoesmith is there for reasons Apple itself would be proud of - it's a marketing stunt.

He is a marketer and thinks that sleeping on the streets will help us "see if it's possible to live off of Apple's huge marketing influence". So, Shoesmith, who is planning to set up camp outside an Apple store in London's Covent Garden, will survive on only donations and sponsorships.

Despite the rioting currently plaguing London's neighbourhoods, sponsors have already responded to Shoesmith's appeal and he is reported to have received thousands of pounds worth of goods so far. Most of which will go to charity, of course.

Anyone who wants to see if Shoesmith stays outside the Apple store on the pavement, or if indeed he ever arrives, can follow his blog at www.iphone5experiment.com. We are sure that some of you will be rooting for him. µ

@Joseph

You're obviously a fanboi yourself or the word fanboi wouldn't be such an irritation. We all love to comment about fanbois here at the INQ even if it irritates fanbois, such as yourself. The term fanboi has been in use for years now and fanboi will not disappear anytime soon from the INQ lexicon. Now if you're really an Apple fanboi that just adds fuel to the flames.

Have a nice day!

Lameness abounds

Everytime I see the word fanboi, no matter what the person referred to is a fan of, I want to kick a dozen puppies and punch a baby.

Use of the term alone is among the lamest, douchiest things a person can say. Any one who writes boy as "boi" needs to choke on wrench.

Good job on the trolling for page hits. Makes me glad I use an ad blocker.
