Skype pulls its Ipad app

Too much too soon, apparently

WITH A REMARKABLE about turn Skype has published and then withdrawn an app for the Apple Ipad.

We cannot be sure why, for now, except for a tweet from the firm that suggests that the app was released too early for some tastes.

"To ensure your best Skype experience, we've temporarily removed Skype for iPad which went live prematurely today," it wrote.

And then, shortly after, "We know you've been eagerly awaiting Skype for iPad and apologize for the inconvenience."

We at The INQUIRER have not been eagerly awaiting this, but we suspect that some Ipad users have. Whether Apple was, we cannot say for now, but we have asked its UK PR department.

There is a Skype for Ipad tab on the voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and messaging firm's home page, but despite clicking it frequently it only produced a link to the Iphone app download.

Apple has responded to our request for information with the suggestion that we contact Skype with our question about whether the app had not won proper approval. We are still waiting for a response to our questions. µ
