TAIWANESE HARDWARE MAKER Asus has announced that its Eee Pad Transformer will be getting an update to Android 3.2 Honeycomb early next month.
On the micro-blogging web site Twitter Asus said, "It's here! Android Honeycomb 3.2 lands on the @ASUS #EeePadTransformer July 28".
Asus also made the announcement on Facebook saying, "Android 3.2 is OUT for the Transformer! US & TW get it today, 7/28. The rest to follow very shortly. Enjoy =)".

This posed the question as to when the update will come to the UK. AsusUK replied to one user's question on this point at Twitter only minutes ago and said, "Android 3.2 coming to UK on 2nd Aug. We'll post a link to details on what's new shortly."
We contacted Asus but it didn't have any more information on the Android 3.2 update for us. Google released the software developer kit for Android 3.2 earlier this month.
The update will deliver various new features but Google has been quite vague about exactly what. It said, "Android 3.2 includes a variety of optimizations across the system to ensure a great user experience on a wider range of tablet devices."
One new function that we do know about is that users will be able to load media files from an SD card straight to applications. Also, a compatibility zoom mode will mean applications will allow fixed-sized apps to be viewed on a larger screen.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer has been one of the most successful tablets this year and saw huge demand after launch. It has suffered from problems with its keyboard dock, however, which Asus has promised to fix, but it hasn't followed through yet. µ
So did they release the sourcecode of 3.x yet? Or can I conclude they never will.
Got it today, July 29.
