ONLINE IMAGE MONSTER Pixazza is no more, in its place stands Luminate, the same company but with a name that does not look like a Scrabble accident.
Pixazza might never have been a household name, and not just for the more obvious reasons, but now it hopes that its new title will change that.
"We started the company to change the web by offering information relevant to online images, engaging consumers in a novel way while offering advertisers and publishers additional revenue streams," said Luminate CEO Bob Lisbonne.
"We've since developed the technology and scale to enable images to do even more. Moving forward as Luminate, we will continue to elevate the role of the image and dramatically improve the web experience."
Luminate, nee Pixazza, makes online images interactive by adding clickable elements to them and has a network of four thousand publishers. It reckons to have thirty million image views a year. µ
