Apple is replacing faulty hard drives

If it is broke, then fix it

FRUIT THEMED Apple is offering to replace a number of Seagate 1TB hard drives that were included in its Imacs but don't work very well.

According to a statement the firm said it has determined there are problems with a small number of the drives that it sold in the last couple of months. Apple said that under certain conditions the drives could fail.

"Apple has determined that a very small number of Seagate 1TB hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems, may fail under certain conditions. These systems were sold between May 2011 and July 2011," it said in a statement on its hardware support pages.

"Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) will replace affected hard drives free of charge."

Apple said that it would contact any Mac owners that gave it a valid email address during contact registration to advise them of the drive swap. Anyone who didn't, or prefers to be a bit more pro-active, can enter their Mac serial number on Apple's hardware support page. µ

whats that you say?
apple charge an immense fortune for their product yet theres no quality control?
sounds like a PHAT profit margin to me at the expense of customer care

Only a million or so?

Obviously it's less than a million in that 1 million is 'very small' by Apple's standards.

I'm talking a small number of bollocks of course cause I'm another retard who can't count.
