Apple OS X Lion downloaded one million times already

One million people add to Apple’s pride
Fri Jul 22 2011, 08:50

THE NOT VERY GROUNDBREAKING Apple OS X Lion operating system upgrade has been downloaded one million times in a day.

We learned this from the usually silent Apple, a company that typically refuses to divulge any information on request but fires celebratory emails into the crowd like they were free tee shirts.

The INQUIRER accounts for a couple of these downloads, and some of our views are reported here, but we can't account for the other 999,998 copies.

Apple can though, and according to Phillip Schiller, who tips up to tell us these things, those people are probably feeling pretty good about themselves.

"Lion is off to a great start, user reviews and industry reaction have been fantastic," said Schiller, who is Apple's SVP of worldwide product marketing.

"Lion is a huge step forward, it's not only packed with innovative features but it's incredibly easy for users to update their Macs to the best OS we've ever made."

The software, available as a download for £20.99, or later on a thumb stick, adds exciting features like full screen apps and some other things that PC users have had forever. µ

1,600 Security Vulnerabilities Add To Apple's Pride?

OS-X - The most insecure OS ever? (Except Linux of course)

Currently on over 1600 Security Vulnerabilites.

For reference, XP has about 450, and Windows 7, about 180. (and common business Linux versions about 2500).

down mac fanbois

it is disgusting to see mac fanbois pooping inside their pants whenever a mac article appears. if mac fanbois can't appreciate the writing style, keep your dirty backsides off this website and rub them on your own macs.

Ugh.

Again. I get sucked in by a headline on Google News only to find myself at The Inquirer.

Here's something the author could use: nobody gives half a damn about you or your useless opinion. That is why emotional teenagers don't get jobs as real journalists.

The amount of influence you COULD have with your writing is effectively nullified by you being a whiner.
