Lulzsec takes on The Sun, and wins

HACKERS FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT, Lulzsec have turned their attentions to Rupert Murdoch, his News Corporation and the Sun newspaper.

The Murdoch business has been subject to some scrutiny in recent weeks, mostly because its seems that his newspapers have happily hacked mobile phones and voicemails, paid police and criminal informants, destroyed evidence relating to murder investigations and invaded the privacy of families of dead soldiers.

This, as well as the paper's colourful treatment of hackers, might have contributed to the Murdoch attacks, which were christened Murdoch Meltdown Monday and started late last night.

"What's going on here? Something up with the website? #Correct," started one Lulzsec tweet that was aimed at The Sun, then another. "The Sun's homepage now redirects to the Murdoch death story on the recently-owned New Times website. Can you spell success, gentlemen?", swiftly followed.

The Murdoch death story, which managed to appear as the front page of the Sun, briefly, claimed that Murdoch had died in his garden after ingesting Palladium. Murdoch, it added, had been found dead slumped near a hedge carved into the shape of a horse.

"TheSun.co.uk now redirects to our twitter feed. Hello, everyone that wanted to visit The Sun! How is your day? Good? Good!", added another tweet. And then, "WE HAVE JOY WE HAVE FUN, WE HAVE MESSED UP MURDOCH'S SUN".

According to to Lulzsec the attack was relatively easy and apparently it was also a lot of fun. As well as redirecting traffic to its own twitter feed, Lulzsec also posted up phone numbers belonging to workers at News Corp, and promised that more would follow.

Lulzsec is still bullish in the face of authority, and called on the mogul and his agents to act in retaliation. If they dare.

"Arrest us. We dare you. We are the unstoppable hacking generation and you are a wasted old sack of shit, Murdoch," it added. "ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER!" µ
