Google can’t use its own URL shortener

Updated Tweets broken link
Mon Jul 18 2011, 15:35

SEARCH GIANT Google apparently struggles to use its own sofware tools, judging by what appears to be an embarrassing slip up on Twitter.

"In long interview w/ @ericschmidt, @qhardy says 'Google can teach a lot' about innovation: http://goo.gl/kgEdkt," reads a tweet from the firm posted about twenty minutes ago, and one which we eagerly sought to read.

However, we cannot say how innovative this is, since the link - created using Google's link shortener - appears to be broken. That is, the link doesn't work.

The INQUIRER has asked the tweeter and the others mentioned in the post, including Eric Schmidt, whether the URL is broken, or the shortener, but has not had a response yet.

The fact that we recommended the Twitter alternative might have something to do with this, but we cannot say for sure.

Update
Google has ignored our message, but has tweeted a fixed link. µ

Curious

So the link is the same minus the last letter t, that's odd since you'd expect it would be a paste but after the URL would be a space, so I guess it wasn't a paste but manually entered and they somehow accidentally hit the t?
Smartphones eh, aren't they handy.
