Ryan Cleary gets conditional bail

Alleged Lulzsec hacker is banned from the internet
Tue Jun 28 2011, 11:38

RECLUSIVE TEENAGER Ryan Cleary has been granted conditional bail by the court and allowed to return home after having been accused of hacking the UK Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) as well as some media rights holders.

Cleary is nineteen and according to his defence team suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, the same illness that plagues the admitted hacker Gary McKinnon. In McKinnon's case this fact has failed to impress the UK authorities, but apparently there is a bit more sympathy for Cleary's illness.

The young hacker, who alledgedly ran IRC servers used by Lulzsec, was arrested late last week, and although bail was sought before it was objected to by the prosecution. Today this has changed, according to the Press Association, and Cleary has been allowed to return home as long as he stays away from the internet.

According to the PA, Cleary must abide to a number of rules. The teen must stay at home at night, which shouldn't be a burden since he is an agoraphobic recluse, and stay away from the internet and any devices capable of going online. µ

Asperger's Syndrome not an illness? O Rly?

Asperger's Syndrome is MOST DEFINITELY an illness. Just because a small portion of the population, apparently you included, think they're totally awesome, doesn't mean it's not an illness. It's like saying a manic person isn't ill because it's a blast to hang with them at parties.

Oh, and sorry for implying that you approve of Asperger's Syndrome, just trying to guess at why you don't think of it as an illness.

What a shoddy article

Asperger's Syndrome is NOT an illness. The writer of this story needs to do his research before he writes anything.
