Winklevoss twins give Facebook another shake

Hope apparently springs eternal for the Winklevi

IN AN ACT that defies belief, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are once again pushing for a larger chunk of the social notworker Facebook.

The brothers were ushered out of court last week, which seemingly put an end to their seven year feud with Facebook. But, like a pair of dogs with something between their teeth, it seems that they just cannot let it go.

According to the LA Times the boat rowing twins are pressing one more argument in US District Court in Boston, claiming that Facebook did not turn over important information during litigation.

According to the LA Times, which has seen the court papers, the Winklevoss twins along with business partner Divya Narendra will ask a judge to rule on whether or not Facebook "intentionally or inadvertently suppressed evidence", such as instant messages, which could make a difference to their case.

The brothers are not appealing the settlement they got in 2008, however, and will not, as was suggested, take their earlier complaints up to the US Supreme Court and ask for more than the $65m they've won already.

One of the messages likely to be of interest is one repeated by the LA Times. In it, Zuckerberg, alledgedly shows his uncaring, unsharing side while discussing the twins' Facebook alternative.

"I'm going to [expletive] them," read one message, and in another he wrote, "They made a mistake haha. They asked me to make it for them. So I'm like delaying it so it won't be ready until after the Facebook thing comes out." µ

STORY LACKS A PROTAGONIST

IF EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THIS DRAMA IS THE ANTAGONIST, WHO IS THERE LEFT TO ROOT FOR?
I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT AT THIS POINT I FIND MYSELF ROOTING FOR THE LAWYERS! I AM NOT KIDDING!

Nice...

Stupid twins. I guess their lawyers didn't explain to them what a legal "settlement" means. I have to wonder if the lawyers are stringing the lawyers along for their own financial benefits.

Worth

I agree. Ideas are worth little in comparison with the actual design, execution and delivery of the product.

Be happy with your 65 million and give credit where its due.

The World's Richest Losers

I eagerly await the technological and business revolution these two savvy entrepreneurs will bring to the table once they've finished with their obviously meritorius legal pursuits and exited the bathtub full of money they've fallen bass ackwards into thanks to the family lawyers and blank check for litigation their pampered upbringing has provided. Oh wait. They can't actually produce anything except ephemeral scraps of ideas based on older ideas (cough*myspace*cough) that other people have the capability to actualize and implement. All they're good for is pumping an oar. Maybe they'll purchase human sized gold-plated hamster wheels for each other and leave the world alone. I doubt any of that money is going to find its way to any practical or social problem solving- just clubbing and rooftop parties. The world's richest losers.
