HACKERS FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT Lulzsec took down the CIA web site yesterday, 'for the lulz'.
The group, which hacks or takes down up to three or more online presences a day, announced the hack last night on its twitter feed, saying "Tango down - cia.gov - for the lulz".
The apparent denial of service attack came on the same day that the hackers opened up a phone request line for targets and continued to rain down its own brand of entertainment on a number of gaming sites, including Eve Online.
This attack seems to have been a brief one and apparently took the US spooks' web site down for only about an hour. Unlike when it hacked the US Senate, Lulzsec has not released any plundered data and it seemed to move away from its target quickly.
A short while later it added, "Goodnight twitter. The CIA anti-lizards will probably rise from the packet sea while we rest our shining-yet-saturated power field arrays."
Fun seems to be the motive behind the group's actions, but that does not mean that it has not created enemies, including some of the infamous 4chan forum members and the even more scary CIA.
That doesn't seem to bother it though. "Lulz Security, where the entertainment is always at your expense, whether you realize it or not", reads one of its tweets, "Wrecking your infrastructures since 2011." µ
These "Lulz" idiots make no contribution other than to initiate the dialectic. Who funds them and what are we supposed to do? Applaud for these little children and their silky pranks?
Stand by for the ready-made solution to bring order to this chaos.

...that they can't take out Al-Qaeda or Jamah Islamiah or Hamas or The Real IRA or someone like that. It'd be useful to take down their networks, as well as a potentially useful mine for intelligence which they could hand to various authorities too.
Just check out the 'voluntary' program being run by the US government - working with major US ISPs to use NSA gear to sift through the Internet traffic of defense contractors, with an eye to extending this Great Firewall to other industries through DHS. Welcome to the USA, home of police state capitalism.
Would I put it past these folks to conduct false flag operations in order to achieve their goals? No. If you want to take the red pill and see how far the rabbit hole goes, search for Judy Wood or the New Hiroshima on YouTube.
Hilarious, but serious point from The Inq.
There goes now the last bit of freedom
(if it ever even existed).
The security measures will go sky high as well as taxes.
%&¤/&¤"# I hate Lulzsec for this!
"Lulzsec is actually a US government " Come on guys! You're reporting and even opinions are better than that. If you had facts like you usually do, fine, but making statements like that don't help your credibility. You guys probably believe that the US government secretly dragged the iceberg in the Titanic's way to purposely sink it. Oh, and paid the captain to continue on course too! Since you are so good with conspiracies, why don't you tell me who killed JFK too?
Like the video ad wasn't bad enough, The Inq chose to
1) Make it continuously loop
2) Add another pop-up video ad
I think The Inq is setting the bar too low - there is plenty of room to add 6-8 video ads... PER PAGE and maybe even 2 or 3 popup adds... oooh, have a few pop up when the user closes the window.
The time is nearing for when this rag disappears from my daily routine ... after 7-8 yrs of viewing.
Any chance Mike will come back and resurrect The Inq????
YEAH BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THE CIA WEB PAGE, ITS NOT LIKE THEY DISTRIBUTE WAREZ OR PRON OR ANYTHING. WHATS USEFUL ABOUT THE CIA WEB PAGE? NOTHIN.
AS A MATTER OF FACT: WHY DOES THE CIA MAINTAIN A WEB PAGE IN THE FIRST PLACE IF THERE'S NO USE FOR IT? THEY SHOULD JUST TAKE IT DOWN THEN AND GET BACK TO WORK. DAMM SLACKERS!
"Some here at The INQUIRER strongly suspect that Lulzsec is actually a US government sponsored false flag nuisance hacking operation that's meant to stampede lawmakers into granting ever more draconian surveillance and control powers over the internet to the emerging US police state. µ "
That seemed ridiculous to me last week and yet when I read they attacked the CIA this morning my opinion did a 180 on the matter. I mean, you just don't eff with powers like he CIA unless you have a lot of backup, or unless you're collectively insane. I have to go with the former.
Is going to do time for that one, slight difference in downing a games site and the CIA.
Well, as the internet was a darpa gig, it seems fair that the US government takes advantage of the infrastructure...
I also believe LulzSec is going to destroy what freedom is left on the internet. This thought has been going through my head for the past week.
"Some here at The INQUIRER strongly suspect that Lulzsec is actually a US government sponsored false flag nuisance hacking operation that's meant to stampede lawmakers into granting ever more draconian surveillance and control powers over the internet to the emerging US police state. µ " come on you know you want to say Mossad lol
either way , if this is just a bunch of kids messing around pissing offa 3 letter ogranisation is not the smartest thing in the world!
