Also launches voice and image search updates

INTERNET SEARCH GIANT Google has unveiled Instant Pages technology to make searching even faster and announced voice and image search updates.

Google launched its Google Instant technology to speed up search results last year and announced it has been tinkering on Google Instant Pages at a US media event.

The predictive nature of the Instant Pages feature offers punters a prediction of what they'd like to click on before they've even hit a link.

Taking some of the randomness out of "I'm Feeling Lucky", Google said its new search method pre-renders search results to a highly accurate degree.

"The good news is that we've been working for years to develop our relevance technology, and we can fairly accurately predict when to prerender," blogged Google Fellow Amit Singhal.

Apparently Google builds up an algorithmic picture of users' choices and pings relevant servers as soon as a search inquiry is entered. That means the information is already loaded in the background by the time the search results show up.

That's not the only thing Google has been working on. The company has also opened up the way you can search by finessing voice and image processing.

Developed off the back of the explosive growth of mobile devices and its own voice recognition technology, Voice Search will be in the next iteration of Chrome and will come with a microphone icon in the search box. Speak into your microphone and Google reckons it will pick up your voice search inquiry through the 230 billion word database it holds.

Google has also added Image Search so punters can upload images or link image URLs into the Image Search bar. Google said image searching can pick up and identify landmarks. µ
