SMILEY FACED FIRM LG has its first 3D capable phone set to arrive in the UK as early as 11 July.
The LG Optimus 3D can be bought SIM free from clove.co.uk for £454.80 with an expected date of 11 July. Play.com has the phone for £469, set to tip up a day later on 12 July.
Amazon.co.uk has the latest date of the three of 13 July and the higher price of £499. If you're not interested in a high one-off payment for the Optimus 3D then the phone will be available on contract tariffs with little up-front investment but higher total costs.
We reported back in February that mobile operator Three will carry the handset and now it has appeared on Three's coming soon page with a date of July. Rival operator Orange also has the Optimus 3D on its coming soon page but doesn't have any indication of when it will appear.
We have contacted Orange to ask when it will have the phone but it has yet to get back to us. Expansys has the phone SIM free for a price of £524.99 but there's no sign of any dates for availability.
If you're a fan of 3D then you're no doubt on the edge of your seat waiting for the Optimus 3D with its glasses-free 3D technology to arrive, making it the UK's first 3D phone.
The 3D parallax barrier stereoscopic technology is the same as that found on the Nintendo 3DS. The Optimus 3D boasts a 4.3in screen and even dual cameras so you can create your own 3D content.
Our first impressions of the phone at CeBIT were mixed and we'll being trying to get hold of a model to review as soon as possible. µ
