LONGTIME UK PC BUILDER Mesh Computers has gone into administration, it has been announced.
The company has ceased trading as of the end of May and has fallen into receivership by the firm of MacIntyre Hudson, according to a statement from that organisation.
The firm's assets have already been bought by PC Peripherals, although the terms of the sale have not been revealed.
According to MacIntyre Hudson the company might have lost its footing in the marketplace and struggled as other devices such as the Ipad and other tablets began to win favour amongst consumers.
Paul Davis, one of the appointed administrators, said that this was a hardship that was facing other companies in the industry, particularly it seems, the ones he has been speaking with lately.
The Mesh Computers web site is still active, and when we called the order helpline we were told that any orders made from today and later would be fulfilled. The only difference, we were assured, would be that PC Peripherals would appear on any invoicing.
The administrators, meanwhile, differed in their advice, and in the statement suggested that even current customers should begin looking for a refund.
"If you have made a payment via credit card for goods and / or services due to be delivered by Mesh Computers and these goods have not yet been received then you should contact your credit card provider immediately to discuss the possibility of a refund," it said.
Reza Jafari, owner and company director at the component distribution firm PC Peripherals commented, "Mesh Computers' 25 year history of manufacturing in the UK is a solid foundation to build from and we are looking forward to investing and moving into our next phase of growth." µ

A convenient bankruptcy to allow a change of ownership to an old buddy?
As much as I hate to see jobs lost, I had an awful experience trying to buy a PC from MESH some years back. Poor customer service; clueless sales people; outright lies about the product; hassle getting money back... so I'll not mourn them too much.
These scheme was used extensively last year to remove minority shareholders and debt and gain major control of companies by their directors/owners. But as it is legally allowed, the owner knows how to play the system . While so many did it last year, first one for this year.
Well I am sad to see more peeps in the UK loosing their jobs. Its strange that people thinks their service is worse than the like of Dell and Acer, I certainly don't think their service was any worse, I had a customer that had a Mesh with some faulty RAM. We rang them up sent them a photo of the diagnostic tool failing on it and they sent us replacement RAM. fine with me. As a company though I really don't care that they are gone lets just hope some other company fills the void and not this weird, backhanded bound-to-fail take over. I certainly won't be buying anything from them now.
A neat little Phoenix sale to a former employee and no doubt a close management friend....
... Great for them, not so great for the poor people who've paid for computer which will never arrive.
But then, if they were dumb enough to risk it buying a mesh, it's possibly their fault!
Having dealt with Mesh a few months ago regarding an order that they were unable to fulfill but reluctant to refund I am not surprised. The customer service and internal communications were awful and I'm thankful that I did cancel and get a refund. I wish the employees the best of luck but the new owner will have to give the company structure a mighty kick up it's backside to make it a business I would consider dealing with again.

Didn't Reza the owner of PC Peripherals used to own Mesh Computers?
