Toshiba reveals Geforce-based Qosmio X770
JAPANESE ELECTRONICS OUTFIT Toshiba has announced a high end gaming laptop with Nvidia's Geforce GTX560M graphics chip.
Toshiba is putting high end features into the Qosmio X770, including Nvidia's latest Geforce GTX560M mobile GPU that was announced yesterday.
The 17.3in Qosmio X770 has a full HD LED backlit display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 5ms response time and a 120Hz refresh rate so it will be compatible with Nvidia's 3D Vision technology. It comes bundled with Nvidia's active shutter glasses and has an integrated IR receiver and even a 3D webcam.
It will have good specfications to cope with next generation gaming, with an Intel Core I7 Sandy Bridge CPU and 8GB of memory to go along with the Nvidia 1.5GB GTX560M graphics, which Nvidia has promised will be able to deliver Duke Nukem Forever at over 50FPS. It will also have two 500GB hard drives, one for storage and another hybrid drive for fast booting.
We haven't seen one yet but the press pics don't make the Qosmio X770 look too ostentatious. That's a surprise given that it's a gaming laptop and gamers like their over-the-top looking hardware. It has a textured line pattern on the laptop lid and on the palm rests to make it grippy for longer gaming sessions. It also has red highlights on the chassis and speaker grilles to go with the backlit keyboard, which is also red.
Toshiba hasn't announced pricing yet but with those specifications don't expect it to be cheap. You will be able to go out and buy one from July 2011. µ

Toshiba Computers are worthless at this point to me. I have had mine a little over 3 months and it hasnt worked correctly since.I didnt buy the stores warrantee because toshiba covers the same things just for buying the computer. Tell me why my disc. drive dissappeared and the level one agent couldnt fix it. They said a level 2 nagent would call me back that day and didnt call till 3 days later leaving a message. When I called backed the level 1 agent said that no 2 agent was available and would call me back in 24 hours. HA! Why are all the agents unable to talk? Probably because there computers suck. I should have bought the dell!
