THE FAMOUS FOOTBALLER involved in the Twitter super injunction saga has today been named as Ryan Giggs.
According to reports, MP John Hemming thought it was no longer realistic to keep the name a secret because so many people already knew who it was due to a flurry of social media activity.
The Telegraph reported that using his parliamentary privilege, Hemming stated, "With about 75,000 people having named Ryan Giggs on Twitter it's obviously impractical to imprison them all."
The famous Manchester United player is alleged to have had sexual relations with the Big Brother star Imogen Thomas.
Apparently Hemming was rebuked by the Commons speaker, John Bercow, who believed that it was not the right time to raise the issue.
So the phenomenon that is social networking is responsible for causing this end to privacy, where Ryan Giggs, along with a number of other public figures named in super injunctions, have been widely and freely discussed.
Speaking to ITV1's Daybreak programme earlier on Monday, prime minister David Cameron, said, "It is rather unsustainable, this situation, where newspapers can't print something that everyone else is clearly talking about." µ

Since I had never heard the name before, I suspect a concerted self-advertising campaign by him an the lady in question (who, sadly, I was not acquainted to either). After the whole build-up, it's about as exciting as the introduction of the Sedgway at the time (to get a technology angle into this).
Ryan Giggs has done more for England than half of Parliament. I wish they'd leave him alone.
So there was truth to the rumour that Imogen was doing gigs in Manchester - and it can now be published!!
