Sony online outage concerns Activision

People are missing their CoD and clips
Tue May 10 2011, 11:48

AMBASSADOR OF VIRTUAL VIOLENCE Activision Blizzard is concerned that the continuing outage of Sony's online services is preventing its users from having fun.

The Sony Playstation Network hack, which exposed the details of more people than currently live in the United Kingdom, has seen the firm take its online gaming systems offline and that has left gamers playing by themselves as opposed to against their friends and peers online.

"While PlayStation 3 gamers can still play Call of Duty by themselves, the outage has prevented them, since April 20, from playing against others over the Internet. "We're really concerned about it," said Bobby Kotick, Activision's CEO, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. "People are really disappointed."

Obvious as this may be, it's the first time that a games software house has come out with public criticism of Sony, and with some weeks yet to come before the problem is expected to be settled, more are likely to follow.

Sony was expected to start services up again this week but failed to meet its own target as it scrambles to shore up its security. Some reports suggest that the online service will be restored by the end of this month, putting the outage at about six weeks. µ

FF7?!

FF7 should never be remade. Because it was perfect the first time. Just like the first two zelda games.

Answer: monopolies are bad, so is DRM

a more sane solution would have been putting everyone on the same 'network' - 360/ps3/pc - opponents determined by source console/pc. but of course... that would be too hard....

Re: Still no Service

I AM VERY Disappointed with SONY. For such a "Big" company with a very large cash flow is indeed inacceptable. And this is my second big disappointment cuz my first one was the promise of the re-make of FF7 but ohh well...
