INTERNET SEARCH GIANT Google has updated its Chrome web browser and added 3D graphics support and some privacy improvements.
The release, which comes via the firm's beta channel, has seen the company improve the use of graphics in the browser - it said it made them "snazzier" - and add a couple of nice people-friendly touches.
In its blog post Google said that it had completed the implementation of support for 3D CSS, which, in case you had not worked it out, lets developers add 3D effects to their content using CSS.
It also improved screen reader useability, and this should help the blind better navigate their way through web pages. The changes here seem to be trial-like and the firm hinted that more will follow. "We've added preliminary support for many popular screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver," it explained.
Chrome also has the malmare and phishing protection that Google announced at the end of last month. "In addition to protecting you against malware and phishing websites, Chrome now warns you before downloading some types of malicious files," it said.
"Chrome uses the same fancy algorithms for checking downloads as it does for checking websites, so Google can help protect you without ever needing to know the URLs you visit or the files you download." µ

Thanks for the good read. The only problem with the 3D rendering is that you some people will have to get a new graphics card or wait until they get a new computer because older ones just won't cut it(source: http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/05/google-chrome-12-beta-enhances-security-and-loses-gears/ ).
I really like the fact that it will intercept bad downloads(great for torrent sites). I don't think that any browser is offering anything like this and will definitely give Chrome a boost.
