Risk free Viewpad 7
Mon Mar 28 2011, 13:11

HARDWARE MAKER Viewsonic has announced a 'try for free' scheme that will run throughout April for its Viewpad 7 tablet.

The 'try for free' offer will give consumers the chance to purchase, for full price, and trial a Viewpad 7 tablet. So before you get too excited, Viewsonic isn't giving them out for nothing.

The conditions allow customers to return the device up to 30 days after purchase for a guaranteed full refund if they, for any reason, are not satisfied. Viewsonic will even pay the return postage up to the value of £10.

Viewsonic's aim for this programme is to ease people into the new world of tablets. James Coulson, European marketing manager for Viewsonic said, "There are many people that have heard about the new Tablet trend but for various reasons have not yet dived in. We want people to have a good first Tablet experience, risk free."

The Viewpad 7, which costs around £300, is one of three tablets from Viewsonic and will be on show at next month's Gadget Show in Birmingham. It has a capacitive 7-inch touchscreen and runs the Android 2.2 operating system. It has 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual webcams. For a closer look at the tablet take a look at our full review. µ

AGREED, DONT BUY TABLET

TABLETS ARE OVERPRICED UNDERPOWERED JUNK COMPARED TO THE AMAZING LAPTOPS THEY ARE BASICALLY GIVING AWAY TODAY. YOU CANT EVEN GET A TABLET WITH AN OPTICAL DRIVE, LET ALONE MECHANICAL HDD OR USB PORTS OR OTHER VALUABLE THINGS SUCH AS CHOICE TO RUN LINUX, ETC.

Not even cheap at 1/2 the price!

This is an under powered device, and in reality a 'rebadged' Linx Commtiva N700 which can be bought without the viewsonic badge for less than £150 - avoid it like the plague unless you like throwing your money away!

No Honeycomb?

Looks like Viewsonic are frozen out from the chocolate factories Honeycomb platform then? I really don't see the point in buying a with Gingerbread when Honeycomb around the corner. Although I note Google have not opened it up to the cheaper vendors so it's overpriced on other manu's offerings.
