AFTER A 33.5 hour wait, the first Apple fanboi finally bought an Ipad 2 from the flagship Apple store in London.
Jewels Lewis of London was the first person to pick up an Ipad 2 at the Apple store on Regent Street just after 5pm today. In the minutes leading up to 5 o'clock, a crowd of what seemed like dozens of Apple staff started clapping and cheering to build up the excitement.
The first 14 eager customers were led in one by one by individual Apple staff to get their hands on the iconic gadget they'd been waiting so long to buy. After waiting from 7:30am on Thurday morning and about 15 minutes in the store, Jewels emerged smiling with his shiny new drinks tray in hand.
By the time the store opened up for the Ipad 2 launch, the queue outside had started doubling back on itself. A spokesperson for the Apple store told The INQUIRER that its stock of white 16GB 4G model Ipad 2 devices had run out after taking pre-orders down the queue. µ

Waiting nearly a day and a half in a queue to buy something is nothing but insane. It's long gone 1990. We have this thing now called mail order, we click what we want to buy and someone brings it to us so we don't have to get off our asses to get it, or waste a day and half looking a total tosspot in a street!
The only time you should wait this long in a queue (still not acceptable though) is at a hospital or when your face down in the gutter after someone's just mugged you for the overpriced tea tray your carrying while you await the plod.
This is nothing but PR spin, chav users who want the latest fashion item now. And want to get there mugs in print so they can gloat to their other chav friends.
A predictable bunch of negative drivel from a bunch of envious t*ssers.
he is holding it wrong.
well it is a shame really ..to all those ipad v1 people who bought theres .. as this was on the drawing board a long time before theres were sold ..
like most things apple there are cheaper and better versions out there ..
apple is the shamed name you pay for not the product
Over-priced sunglasses - Check
Over-priced head phones - Check
Over-priced tea tray - Check
The guy look just like someone that would do exactly what he did. Fashion victim.
I like this word: re re re re tards
It's not these people who are particularly retarded, there is nothing new about this, it's mostly all supposedly technical reviewers, and specifically all tablet producers who are retarded. Don't almost all of them see that current screen with its terrible pixelation is not suitable for browsing? The pixel count is almost the same like on 8 times smaller by surface area iPhone4 !
Poor Steve was clearly too busy this year with his illness. One more year is lost for tablets for being actually useful at least for something.
Perhaps you'd prefer 'retarded'? Seriously; what a pathetic individual who stands in line for hours on end to get a product that .... *is not finite*. I mean - they arn't starving refugees waiting in-line for a limited UN aid handout and they arn't queuing for access to an incredibly limited number of the devices (unless you count shoddy manufacturing practices and/or geological events that lead to convenient 'shortages'). Sad state when humans have that much time and that little to do with it.
The idiot article writer and you idiot commenters seem care about what other people do and spend THEIR money way too much. Get a life.
One wonders at the meanness of an intellect that feels compelled to insult an entire group of consumers. Owners of Apple products are not a monolith. I find the terminology insulting and unjustifiable.
I do not own an iPad and do not plan to purchase one. I do own other Apple products. Each is a tool I employ. Each serves different purposes. I have found them superior products in general, because they start their usefulness right out of the box, require only a modest amount of expertise on my part, are very well supported in my experience, and, perhaps most importantly of all, have lasted beyond all reasonable expectation.
I do not feel any compulsion to buy new Apple products for which I have no need. I feel no need to refrain from criticizing Apple when, in my judgment, they err. I am very pleased with how well my purchases of Apple stock have rewarded my investment in the company.
Actually MJ...I have the iphone 4/and ipad v1 and the monster beat headphones...for which I do serve a slagging for having more money than sense..way overpriced for what they actually cost to make
Fanbois make me laugh. Do they come any dumber than people who que in line for hours to buy some over-hyped, over-priced, half-baked POS toy? I mean really did these folks do so many drugs their brain is fried?
You can fix a lot of things but you can't fix stupid - as the fanbois prove daily.
Well didn't take long for them to go faulty, know a person working on UK support and getting complaints about colour bleeding on dark screens and units being recalled. Rushed to market for the fanboi's before they are ready, to combat droid pads???
Stupid!
People like Jay are just poor and everything seems to expensive for them.
People who slag people off for slagging people of. Don't they have their own lives to lead?
nevermind the ipad...he deserves a slagging for the overpriced montster headphones with their 500% markup on costprice he's shelled out for.
So many sad people in this world! I mean why would you care what people spend their money and their time on? Who are you to tell what people should our shouldn't buy? People like you make me puke.
