UK INTERNET TV SERVICE Youview has announced that hundreds of organisations have expressed interest in working with it and has named 29 of the new partners.

The interested parties represent a range of free and paid content in the entertainment, film, music, news, factual, sport, arts and local media sectors. They registered their interest last Autumn after Youview sought out potential partnerships with a multitude of firms.

The 29 companies that have been named are Blinkbox, Blinkx, BSkyB, Film4oD, Golant Media Ventures, Guardian News & Media, IndieMoviesOnline, Lovefilm, Pushbutton, Radioplayer, Stream UK, STV, Travel Channel, Tvinci, UTV, Woomi, Alcatel-Lucent, Capablue, Deluxe, Easeltv, IMD, Ioko, Kaltura, Nativ, Ooyala, Red Bee Media, Technicolor, TripleSEE and Twofour.

A number of these companies will form an advisory group, which will work on drawing up guidelines for delivering content. These are expected to be published later this year.

Deals will be formally agreed later this year, where these and other companies may reveal what content they will be offering through the Youview service. µ
