Duke Nukem is delayed

Duke Nukem Forever incoming on 10 June
Thu Mar 24 2011, 14:45

GAME DEVELOPERS 2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced yet another delay to the seemingly forever longer than long anticipated Duke Nukem Forever.

Duke Nukem Forever is the sequel to the popular babes and bullets first person shooter than fans have been waiting to see for years. Fifteen years to be precise.

No one really expected it to be released this year, so an announcement that it has been delayed for another few weeks is rather reassuring, as it confirms that the game is actually almost ready and nearly upon us.

"In case you haven't heard, Duke never comes early," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games. "We're committed to deliver a laugh-out-loud, politically incorrect experience that people will talk about for years to come. We thank Duke's fans for their continued patience - I promise this won't take another 15 years."

Although it was due on 6 May, Duke Nukem Forever will be released internationally on 10 June and on 14 June in the US. With its mix of babes and bullets, one liners and, um, a vibrating device based action scene, it might be the first computer game to make the Daily Mail explode.

"I'm very sorry for the added delay. We've all been working extremely hard and are very eager to deliver the game to you," added Pitchford. "I never knew Forever was going to be so long. If you're like me, June cannot come quickly enough." µ

"We're committed to deliver a laugh-out-loud, politically incorrect experience"

Strategically omitting to mention any commitment to deliver a game, though, I notice!

" that people will talk about for years to come."

But will they be talking about the game, or about how it's still not here yet?

" We thank Duke's fans for their continued patience - I promise this won't take another 15 years."

That could of course mean that it will take another 16 or more years....
