MEMORY AND STORAGE VENDOR Kingston has announced two class 10 micro secure digital high capacity (SDHC) cards with 4GB and 8GB capacity that will be available this month.

The cards will be available "at the end of March" in the 4GB size, priced at £8.91, or a larger 8GB version, priced at £14.90. The two cards will join the current 16GB class 10 offering from Kingston in the microSD division, which currently costs around £65.

For an extra 8 pence you can buy the card with an SD adapter for a total of £8.99 for the 4GB card and £14.99 for the 8GB card. Kingston said prices for the card with Multi-kit should be available next week.

Class 10 refers to the speed of the card, which guarantees a minimum write speed of 10MB/sec. Other than class 10, Kingston currently offers the micro SDHC cards in class 4. Kingston said that a 32GB capacity class 10 card will be available in the second quarter.

The cards will be available as part of a Multi-Kit that includes an SD adapter and a USB card reader. The cards are compatible with most smartphones today as well as tablets, digital cameras and some other devices. A lifetime guarantee accompanies the cards along with 24/7 live technical support. µ
