SHINY TOY MAKER Apple has revealed how many quid its Ipad2 will set us back on its release this Friday, ranging from £399 to £659.
Apple has released a full set of prices for all the options the Ipad2 will come in on Friday this week. The WiFi only version will start at £399 for 16GB, and then move to £479 for 32GB and end at £559 for 64GB. If you add 3G capabilities into the equation then you're looking at £499 for 16GB, £579 for 32GB and finally the crème de la crème will put you £659 out of pocket for 64GB.
The popular gadget that has proved hugely successful in the US, selling over an estimated 500,000 units over its first weekend, will also be available in 25 additional countries on Friday. We won't bore you with the full list but aside from the UK it also includes Australia, France, Germany and New Zealand.
Apple has also said that all models of the Ipad2 will be available in Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore in April.
If you're dying to get your hands on the latest thinner and lighter shiny drinks tray gadget that's being flogged by the cappuccino company, then it will be available at the Apple Stores and at authorised resellers at 5pm local time. The online Apple Store will also be taking orders from 1am.
The press release came with an unchanged set of specifications for the device, which will have a 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen, a dual core A5 processor and dual cameras. We will have to wait and see how long stocks lasts in the shops after news of a possible shortages of components for the Ipad2 surfaced last week. µ
