UNCLE SAM will give its operatives multiple online identities to combat anti-American comments on the Internet with pro-American postings.
Tit for tat, pro and anti rantings might be a game where the only way to win is not to take part, for the rather obvious reasons that there are far far more anti-American people worldwide than the US government could ever field.
Despite this obvious numerical advantage of people who dont like Fox News, the Dukes of Hazard, Dallas reruns and Two and a Half Men, the US Air Force reportedly is paying a firm to develop the necessary software.
The Guardian has revealed that a California company is developing the software and that the languages it will use are Asian and Middle Eastern. According to the original request for bids, the software will allow 10 personas per user, "replete with background , history, supporting details, and cyber presences that are technically, culturally and geographically consistent."
Trying to manage ten personas, each of which is engaging in online debate, is going to be a continuity nightmare. Assuming this dumb idea is aimed at the Middle East and Asia, will a US service man or woman not at some point get a bit mixed up when trying to bat away unkind comparisons between one local singing idol reality show or another and one local or national football teams' performance and another?
This idea seems as misguided as the "Terrordaq" that the US Department of Defense came up with after 9/11. This was to establish a stock market for tip-offs about terror attacks because it was believed that stock markets were good predictors of future events. What we all know now, of course, thanks to the banksters is that they only reveal a herd instinct among traders. µ

If they do it like U.S. politicians - somewhat imitated by British - it will be easy to tell that they are all putting forward exactly the same "Talking Points".
I'm inclined to say let them do it. They will only discredit anyone who is sincerely and independently speaking favourably of United States actions and influence.
Anyway, Middle East governments probably have a record of every Internet user's home address. Anything with a Zip Code is going to stick out like a sore thumb. Other countries have mail delivery codes, but they are all different.
Needles to point out they've been doing this for some time now in english?
I think the EU better make a law against this crap btw, since they like to make laws so much one on the good side might be a nice change and a way to confuse people.
Oh and before we get people saying they don't do this in english I better remind people that wikileaks has documentation that they do campaigns in the EU to chance people's views about such things as the war in afghanistan, although in those documents they don't suggest to lie, which is a bit odd really since that's their well-known MO in practice as we all have witnessed.
In the end this will backfire I think in the middle east and such, people will catch on (since many assholes have been doing multiple accounts and it's a known phenomena) and the US will be hated and distrusted even more.
Only the western countries don't mind being conned and lied to like that.
Sounded a lot like the 50 cent party working for PRC.
