SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Filemaker has launched the latest versions of its Bento database software for Apple devices.
Bento 4 is now available for Mac users and Bento 1.1 is available for Iphone and Ipad. Bento 4 is priced at £29.99 for one license or £59.99 a family pack including five licenses, while users who already own previous Mac versions are eligible for a £10 rebate. Bento 1.1 is priced at £2.99 with a free update for users currently on the older version.
For the first time Bento 4 for the Mac is available from the Apple App Store and allows you to export and share Bento libraries with other users. It's faster than previous versions, allows you to lock layout forms and now includes automatic geographical tags using WiFi, GPS or cell tower triangulation.
Bento 1.1 for the Iphone and Ipad includes some updates to its features including the ability to record voice memos with the device and tie them to records, and it can also be synchronised with Bento 4. You can now synchronise Ical tasks from the Mac, edit simple list data on your Iphone and use related records to link libraries.
For the first time Bento 1.1 supports five additional languages beyond English with the addition of Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Ryan Rosenberg, VP of marketing and services for Filemaker said, "We've enhanced the entire product line: Bento for Mac, Bento for iPad and Bento for iPhone to provide you with a major productivity boost at your desk and when you're on the go." µ
