Wed Mar 16 2011, 08:47

CHIP DESIGNER Nvidia's CFO, David White will resign tomorrow for personal reasons.

White joined the company in February 2009, having previously held a similar role at Sanmina-SCI Corporation. His resignation is effective from March 17, but he agreed to stay on in a smaller role for a few months to facilitate the transition.

Until the end of May White will help out the new CFO and then from June to the end of August he will work as a consultant for Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia's CEO. At this time it is not clear if he will seek a position at another company or retire altogether.

Corporate controller Karen Burns will fill the vacancy as interim CFO, thanks to her current position and prior experience with tax and auditing matters. She spent a decade leading the tax department at Nvidia and close to another decade in a similar role at KPMG International.

The news led to a decline Nvidia's share price, which lost roughly three per cent yesterday. At press time today its shares were down a further 2.97 per cent to $17.66. µ
