STOCK BROKERAGE FIRM Piper Jaffray has claimed that most Ipad 2 buyers are not Ipad fanbois, but new customers.
The finding was part of a survey carried out by the company with all of 236 people interested in the latest version of Apple's successful tablet. Its pollsters likely walked the line at the local Apple store in downtown Manhattan, but maybe not.
Piper Jaffray found that 70 per cent of buyers of the Ipad 2 were new customers, which is a huge increase over the Iphone 4, which had only 23 per cent new customers.
It was almost 50/50 for the division between Mac and PC users, with Mac users slightly ahead at 51 per cent. The original Ipad, on the other hand, had 74 per cent of purchasers owning a Mac.
The stock flogger found that 65 per cent of Ipad 2 buyers own an Iphone, while 24 per cent own a Kindle, a big increase over the original Ipad, where only 13 per cent owned the ebook device.
Not many people plan to read on the Ipad 2, however, with only six per cent saying that is an intended purpose, down from 19 per cent for the original Ipad. Apps and games have taken the place of reading, up from nine per cent to 17 per cent.
Piper Jaffray estimated that between 400,000 to 500,000 Ipad 2s have been sold, a big increase on the 300,000 sold for the original Ipad at its launch weekend. It also found that many stores were sold out quickly, so much so that the research team could not find one Ipad 2 available to buy. It thinks fanbois will most likely buy the device as soon as it is back in stock. µ

How many letters are there in the English alphabet?
When a person pays over the odds for something, it is because he believes that the extra dosh is for some intrinsic quality not available to your common-or-garden varieties. With most fashion items, oka confidence enhancers, however, when the uncommonality refers a lobotomised thingy like a “Pad” of a kamputar, there must be sump’fink beyond sanity afloating. Since a “Paddy” is just another komputar with much baggage removed and not some ghostly influence [“Not yet you nitwit”], what is it that is not commonly realisable but is accelerating others to exchange their sanity for some insanity? The aura of sophistication perhaps or it could be that air of holistic design excellence not commonly found in geekism oka technology. Then again, it could be one’s saviour’s pheramone being sputtered “all over the place” that is pulling the trick. Or it could be just a name, like, say, Genghis or Adolf !! So, what is that magical ingredient that is able to command a high price and yet have besotted young and old fogies rushing to give their all for and still gushingly declare that, “I feel guilty paying that price, they should have charged more”. If “entrepreneurs” could have such a wet dream just only vunce in their lifetime [pls G_d], they’ll be sputtering everywheresss.
Religion is the knowledge which is not realisable. In this instance, a “Pad” is a known quantity and there is only that much that the milking of the stoned the hardware could justify/bear but when the Essence of Saviour is an imagination linked to one’s past and/or future, Bob’s yr Uncle. Those who do not believe that mass mersmerism exists ought to check in the mirror that they too are not under the influence. When a person is stupid, he becomes egotistical and when he is dumb, he becomes conditional. The former is based on activity and the latter inactivity, oka the emotion. Methods of persuasion, oka mesmerising the ego or the emotion, target past-future vulnerbilities within its victims. The first thing adverts do is to excite/destablise. There has to be sump’fink new to lead the hallelujahs on, hence the limited product lifecycle gravy train. To suck-in the egos, they challenge the stupidos’ authority, oka false/self-righteous knowledge and to vacuumed the dumbos’ conditionals, the adverts thrash their lack of confidence. “Yeah baby, you’ve got me for the next year - should I last that long”.
The MO of humanity is ownership issues whilst realising that to own is to be owned at the very same exact moment or as the ancient texts call it, “Detachment”. Guess what ownership issues are also called - Religion. Religion within Reality/The Realm of Permanency are the commandments/taboos/Morality innate within all real humans whereas within Relativity/The Realm of Transience, religion is a myth because Permanency is lacking. When all one could feel is that taboo hinting that, “You can’t just knock him over the head and nick his stuff”, whilst not realising that there is a reality watching over one’s every move, the next suggestion could then be, “Go on, before the mug wakes up”. That guilt-anger trip set up is the result of not being able to realised the value of being a good boy - that He-She is watching over your every move, not from up high nor from down below but within you - all the time, 24/7 !! So, what does any self-proclaimed goody-2-shoes offer to the confused who lacks absolute valuation, yes, open wide and hallelujah mah son, you see, the Sun shines and so does the Moon too, blah, blah, blah … Now, the next part will amaze bacause you see, some book mentionss that there was a Man who could walk on water and …… You wanna own, I mean be under that Man’s saviourship/protection, just merely believe in Him and your sins will be gone.
Let’s cut the chase, buy a “Paddy” today and all your sins of past gadgetry will be not only forgiven, they’ll be gone too - welcome to the club where the special, the privileged, the smarties and the glitzy work, rest and play !! You have truly made the right choice - a choice of/for freedom no less. God bless the righteous and the super intelligent like you….. Now, which stupido-cum-dumbo sez that high-priced fashion/able items have no religious under, over and beyond your zonking mesmerised head tones. You wanna buy some special petrol/gas - head over to the diamond tech club - members only. If only people are real humans, they’ll be using their brains instead of their members only for their judgement calls. Not when preseedents are doing it too !! Join the club !! Competition is about Love and not about might and long may Unc Tom and His Kabins be ignorant of this reality for they are not worthy of their own Morality, preferring to moralise and be moralistic.
Your constant use of the word Fanboi(s) to describe people who are appreciative of Apple products really calls your basic credibility into question. Apple is a solid company with award winning products and trend-setting design. In a world filled with me-too technology companies, someone has to raise the bar and Apple always does. However, they are not perfect, do make mistakes, and Jobs is just as big an egomaniac as Gates, Ballmer, Ellison and the rest of them.
It is amusing when you think how sad these people will be in a few months when the real iPad 2 comes out. This one has little in enhancements that most will notice or use. The cameras are pitiful, and the performance increases will only be noticed by the geeksters. They aren't fanbois that bought it, but gullible consumers that believe the Apple hype machine - and fanbois is the correct spelling :)
Is "Fanbois" pronounced "Fanboyz" or "Fanbwah"?
Hmmmm!! Fandroids entering for the first time the iWorld? Good on you, you are here to stay ;)
Ipad and Iphone are the spellings used at The INQUIRER.
+1
Your product names are spelled incorrectly. This is frustrating to read. iPad and iPhone. Ipad and Iphone are something one would expect to see on an internet chat room. The same with fanbois. If you are intending to write a quality article, please do correct these things along with perhaps creating a bit more purpose to your article rather than just regurgitating the Piper Jaffray information that has already been circulated many times.
