LG Optimus Pad tablet video demo

Honeycomb at CeBIT
Tue Mar 08 2011, 15:12

SMILEY FACED FIRM LG demonstrated its Android tablet, the Optimus Pad, to The INQUIRER at CeBIT in Germany.

LG's entry to the tablet competition has an 8.9-inch screen with a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, but as you'll hear in the video the spokesman for LG quoted only 30MB of RAM, which was likely a misstatement. It was running Android Honeycomb at the trade show and it comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G and 32GB of storage.

The Optimus Pad also has USB and HDMI ports and dual 5MP rear cameras for shooting 3D content and high definition video. Note that the tablet doesn't have a 3D capable screen like the Optimus 3D phone, so to view the 3D content you create with it you'll need to hook it up to a 3D monitor or TV.

LG told The INQUIRER that the Optimus Pad will be available in Europe in May and will retail at €899. µ

Useful

Does it have a polycarbonate shell? Seeing you can carry it anywhere it might be handy to ward off stab attacks, of cop clubbing you into a cripple to 'make a point'.
This sounds like pure sarcasm but hey, having a small shield - it can be seriously handy, like those stab-proof document bags they give some diplomats.
And when you carry it anywhere it's handy if it can take a bump or two anyway of course.
