GADGET MAKER Fujitsu showed off its prototype Stylistic Q550 tablet to The INQUIRER at CeBIT this week.

In a February press release Fujitsu said that the Stylistic Q550 would be available from the beginning of April. However, at CeBIT this week, The INQUIRER was told that the tablet isn't expected to come out until June.

One of only two prototype models, the tablet was not fully functional as it only supported one finger touch, but the video above will show you what features the Stylistic Q550 will come with.

Fujitsu's flagship tablet has a 10.1-inch screen with 1280x800 resolution and runs Windows 7. Not shown in the video is the stylus pen that will also come with the tablet. µ

Great Tablets as always

My first fujitsu tablet pc was a Stylistic 1000 from 1996 with 486DX-100 cpu ,8MB RAM , 325MB HD
Befor that was a Nomad running win 3.1 I beleave. Fujitsu is not new to this game. I've had 4 of them in the past and Im writing this on an St5020 right
now.

get it right

Windows 7 is great for tablets and it should be able to handle it just fine. Until they come out with true stylus support (not just a pen that simulates a finger) and a comparable note taking program to Microsoft OneNote for android or the ipad they will not face much competition.

As for the Fujitsu jumping on the bandwagon comment, they were one of the first in the tablet market and their tablets are still far and away better than the others available.

Good for business use?

Most corporate IT managers see iPads as a security risk (insecure logon), more sensitive data left on trains (unencrypted storage), variable configuration (3rd party apps fingering company data), and an OS they don't know/can't support. This could be the answer they need.
And my Asus (Atom) eee runs Windows 7 just fine - quicker than XP - and the battery on this Fujhitsu is swappable if it eats too much power.
For business use, it looks pretty good to me...

why bother with win7?

Beats me... Why in the world would anybody make a tablet with windows 7 ???? Even a desktop computer struggles with it sometimes... Why, when Android tablets are so popular and good. Even "the bitten apple" is a better optimized tablet OS. Why develop a tablet with a desktop OS, and with an Atom? Even Tegra is faster and consumes less battery.

Another totally useless tablet flooded by Jujitsu jumping into tablet bandwagon.

33% gone

@MN - wtf, if it can run 7 it can run any OS, not like it's a usless droid/apple/chrome only pos.

But, what's with waisting over 30% of the display with a black boarder? The display should go to the edge or very close.
