Update problems continue to plague Windows Phone 7

Samsung is cursed
Fri Mar 04 2011, 09:56

THE WINDOWS PHONE 7 (WP7) update process is becoming a protracted embarrassment not only for Microsoft but for Samsung as well.

Despite stopping the update process for the Omnia 7, amongst other handsets, the restart was expected to see a smooth update for Samsung's WP7 handset, but no such luck. The Vole's forum Microsoft Answers is providing no such thing, as users post complaints about updates timing out and more error codes.

Today one frustrated Omnia 7 users who goes by the name Philstera on the forum said, "Dont you guys have any answers yet apart from reboot the phones? This must be the 10th time Ive tried to install the update am I wasting my time, each time I have removed more apps, more music until not there is not much on the phone and it all has to be reinstalled."

Since February the HTC Trophy 7, LG Optimus 7 and Samsung Omnia 7 WP7 handsets have had problems with the update, which does not even provide any new features. The update is intended to prepare the phone for an update that is expected to provide the 'cut and paste' feature but little else. µ

update for hd7

Microsoft have to many excuses. its not like this is the first phone os they have made they should be better at this.

i love my hd7 but i do miss the cheap games on my old iphone, the ability to find out where i am exactly with the iphone maps and not over a mile away from where i really am on bing maps. windows phone 7 should have come out this year with everything in is os ready.

im am sorry for those who cant get this tiny useless update, my hd7 got the update and went well with no problems.

maybe Microsoft should of just made one phone to support the os like apple so the chances of update failure with be alot loess

The Windows Phone Fiasco Continues

It has now turned into a debacle.

Those phones that escaped being completely ruined by the previous update, have just been bricked by the second update!

The Windows Phone just blankly stares at you, displaying the Microsoft Error Code 800705B4.

There is only one answer. Throw your useless Windows Phone 7 handset in the bin. Here's an example:

Microsoft didn't properly test either update before inflicting them on users. Now Windows Phone 7 has turned into a train wreck.
