GMAIL USERS might still be experiencing problems despite Google apparently working hard to restore their accounts.
Earlier this week the firm was forced to respond to complaints from an apparently small subset of Gmail users who had suddenly discovered that their settings and emails had been deleted.
Google reacted quickly, confirmed the problems and promised to fix them. Yet despite its efforts and assurances some users might still be suffering.
Ben Treynor, VP of engineering and site reliability leader at Google has been earning his money since the firm introduced its storage software update, and the accompanying bug, earlier this week, and late in the evening on the 2 March he added a second update to his blog.
Having already suggested that there were just hours left before all lost accounts were restored, Treynor added the firm was still expecting to hear from those users that are still experiencing problems, people who are expected to have more mail than the norm.
"Gmail should be back to normal for the vast majority of people affected by this issue. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us at the temporary alias we've set up for this particular issue," he said. "Thanks again for bearing with us." µ

My daughter is getting other peoples emails. Eg:One from a lawyer to a client. That should be a no no. Makes for interesting reading tho.
Gmail has been intermittent at best... right now its completely down. So much for 99.99% uptime?
