INTERNET EXPLORER 9 (IE9) has been downloaded some 36 million times according to Microsoft, which added that IE9 has a whopping 0.66 per cent of all worldwide browser users.
Since it was thrust onto an unexpectant world on 10 February, the Vole's latest creaky browser has slowly built up its download total with the IE9 beta and then the release candidate, which drew 11 million downloads.
Roger Capriotti, director for Internet Explorer product marketing, said that the Vole's next web browser had gathered more early interest than previous releases including IE8, and was proving itself on Internet traffic charts.
"Net Applications reported this month that Internet Explorer share increased by 0.86 per cent across Windows. Across all operating systems, IE share also grew 0.78 per cent", he explained, before suggesting that perhaps we would be wiser to stick with the Vole's way of working things out.
"When adjusted using the older weighting, IE8 and 9 actually show even stronger growth on Windows: up 1.31 per cent - or over three times Chrome's 0.42 per cent growth," he added. µ
Well even as a chrome candidate I thought I'd hark back to the days of my youth and give the latest ie a chance. Only to be thwarted by the fact that it couldn't manage to install itself on a fully updated win 7 64... sad... the vole lost their touch when they stopped needing to earn a buck : )
1.) This isn't on Windows Update (yet), therefore no users have been forced to use it.
2.) This is still pre-release software. It is not the finished product therefore most people won't want to use it because it will replace their current production release browser. The fact that 1% of the market is using a test browser I find astounding. I won't use it until it's the full release version myself.
How many of those downloads were due to Windows Update automatically downloading everything without asking the user first ?
hahahaha
So does your drive loads slower now????
xDDDDDDDDDDDD
Sorry guys was my fault! I'm filling the drive with crap data to test if it sucks more...
When people start quoting statistics <1% as being significant, you can be pretty sure that they are desperate and/or bull-shitting.
