IT'S TAKEN its sweet time to get here, but the Dell Venue Pro smartphone will ship in the UK in 10 days.
You can already pre-order the Venue Pro on the Dell website, and if you want to take a gander at the business-focused smartphone close up it should be widely available by the end of March from retailers like PC World
The Dell Venue Pro is a very delayed smartphone. It was actually spotted with the launch of the first Windows Phone handsets last year. It differs from the rest of the Windows Phone pack with its vertical QWERTY keyboard, designed with business users in mind. So far Windows Phone models have been all about touchscreens and virtual keyboards.
It is priced unlocked for £383, which is a significant amount of cash for what is basically a 2010 smartphone. There's a 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED multi-touch display and a 16GB pre-installed Micro SD card, all powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There's also a 5MP camera.
From the beginning, the Venue Pro was designed and marketed with the business user in mind. This means power or fancy specifications were never really the issue, but rather its corporate suitability. Dell has a rich history here.
But then again, new Android smartphones we've this year have more business features and possibilities, so the Dell Venue Pro has a lot of competition. µ
@ Simian Ape, Really? who's doing that? do you have a link?
@Steve, they do the special tax is put on by the AT&T for having a iphone.. wow you loosers sound like you work for Apple.. only those asshats would troll other products and bash them and post lies about the products.
I think we need a special tax on stupid smart phones, seems too many people have more money than brains.
Use this URL and you will learn some horror stories about the phone in the US.
Still no official response from DELL mobile about the root cause or a fix. Maybe you guys can do some poking around and find out what's going on.

The pattern that has occurred with other Windows Phones is that the get released, nobody wants then, so then they get put on the discount rack, priced to clear, 2-for-1 offers, and free Xboxes with Kinnects.
And still they don't sell.
