OLD FASHIONED breaking and entering has struck Vodafone's network services and not the sort of cyber intrusion so many are warning about.
Sunday night one of Vodafone's facilities was broken into and it seems that some equipment was damaged. Whether it was disgruntled employees, customers or yocals that had run out of sleeping cows to tip, the mobile phone network operator was probably just relieved it wasn't having to defend its cyber security systems. Maybe the facility just needs some patrol dogs?
Vodafone's statement on the issue says, "We had a break in last night at one of our technical facilities which resulted in damage done to some of our equipment. This means that some customers may be experiencing temporary loss of voice, SMS and internet services. We are working quickly to restore these and will be back to normal as soon as we can. There has been no impact on the privacy of customers' data."
For all we know the individuals that had nothing better to do on a Sunday night - well, telly is usually rubbish on Sundays - to go and break into Vodafone's facility were probably after copper cable rather than switch gear.
Vodafone would not be the first victim of copper thieves. BT has suffered from having its cables stolen, too. µ
well if you dont pay your taxes vodafone bad things will happen. why should you get away with it while us the taxpayer pick up your debt. thieves all of you

Vodafone UK banned me from their eForum for posting this internal information: http://379.at/4F2k
They then have the cheek to send me this email! Complete fail Vodafone - myself, and my staff, will be moving elsewhere:
