THE CHINESE COMPANY Huawei has told the US government to come up with evidence over concerns that it is a threat to US national security.
In an open letter written by Ken Hu, deputy chairman of the mobile and wireless networking equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies, he asks the US government to bring its national security concerns about the company to the table. Other perceptions that he said have affected Huawei's US business include allegations that it has connections to the Chinese military.
Hu said that there have also been allegations Huawei could use its technology to steal confidential information from the US. Hu claimed that there is no evidence for this, and that the company is audited and has security in place to protect its network.
He said, "We believe we can work closely with the United States government to address any concerns and we will certainly comply with any additional security requirements.
"We also remain open to any investigation deemed necessary by American authorities and we will continue to cooperate transparently with all government agencies."
He added, "In recent years, misperceptions and rumors have been the shadow of Huawei, affecting Huawei's reputation and, we believe, the United States government's judgment of Huawei.
"We sincerely hope that the United States government will address this issue by carrying out a formal investigation of any doubts it may have about Huawei in an effort to reach a clear and accurate conclusion." µ
Huawei blatantly stole Cisco's IOS source code, but as long as the Chinese government continues to use veiled threats to protect them (e.g. Cisco, you want to sell in China? Better think about what you're accusing of us of...) nobody's ever going to touch them.
But our own governments are just a bunch of pansies - totally owned by other companies with broad interests in China and afraid of retaliation for any efforts at justice.
At least the Chinese are not buying the whole Nazi-attitude of the USassians.
Huawei is a Chinese company. China is a State Capitalist nation, e.g., all businesses are owned by the State. China is, and has been since 1949, hostile to the United States and to the interests of all Western nations, consistently stealing both military and civilian secrets and intellectual property, reverse-engineering any Western technology it could access, and blatantly violating copyrights and trademarks. Huawei is part of that overall scheme, intended to dominate the world economy and eventually overthrow all other governments.
No other evidence is really needed.
