Google Android Honeycomb gets ported to Nexus One

Why not have a 3.7-inch Android tablet?

GOOGLE'S HONEYCOMB Android operating system has been ported to the search engine company's Nexus One phone.

The port was announced on the XDA developers forum over the weekend Nexus One, where owners reported that the WiFi, accelerometer, sound, camera and bluetooth did not work.

In his forum posting Canadian hacker Pascal Bernier, who writes as bypass23 on the XDA forum, says, "I tried to keep the SDK as untouched as I could for this release... It's almost a PURE SDK port so it can be used as a base for [Developers]."

In reply to a forum responder Bernier adds that not much works with the Honeycomb port at the moment with SMS, calls and emails also not functioning. Yet the lack of any functions does not dampen the enthusiasm of the XDA forum members.

Android 3.0 has already been ported to an HTC Desire HD and that can be seen in the video below. µ

"Operating system" is two words.

It sounds like they got "system" right, but not the other, the first part. It's kind of an important part.

Hmmmm

I assume that is "ported" in the same tone of voice as "it's compiled, ship it"...

I tried to watch the mumbling video of the Desire HD, but one the guy is mumbling, mainly "nothing really works", and there is some god awful noise in the background!
