Warner Bros launches Ithing movie apps with The Dark Knight

No DRM problems with Itunes it seems

FANBOI BATMAN FANS. prepare to have a joygasm because The Dark Knight is now available for the Iphone, Ipod and Ipad care of the movie studio Warner Bros' movie "App Editons".

And with a nod to Jobs' reality distortion field, Warner Bros is also launching its App Editions with the in-dream thriller Inception. Both films are available now on the Apple App Store in Itunes. This year Warner Bros intends to release a full slate of App Editions including new releases and old movies. But maybe not George Clooney's Batman and Robin.

App Editions have the first five minutes of a feature film and a portion of bonus content that can include games, trivia, soundtracks and soundboards. The entire feature film can be unlocked via an in-app purchase, which enables downloading and unlimited streaming, as well as access to the entire array of bonus content available within the app.

There is also a social notworking element with Facebook and Twitter updates possible while watching the movies. Watch the video below that explains how it all works. But will it explain why both films that were chosen to launch App Editions have British cultural icon Michael Caine in them? And since that's the case, where's The Ipcress File and Educating Rita? Oh, Warner Bros didn't make those, nevermind. µ

Really? Is anyone that thick?

Even iPhone/iPad users should be smart enough to know that installing apps from CDs/DVDs/Blu-Ray disks is simply *asking* for a malicious software infestation.

Or am I the only person on the planet who remembers the Sony/BMG audio CD virus debacle?
