PC HARDWARE OUTFIT Acer announced its 10.1-inch tablet, the Iconia A500 at Mobile World Congress yesterday, showing a desktop PC-like approach to flogging tablet devices.
Acer will load the Iconia A500 with games such as Need for Speed, as demonstrated in the video. The Acer representative told The INQUIRER that bundled applications will vary according to the region where the device is sold.
Aside from bundling games, Acer also revealed social notworking software similar to that of Motorola's Motoblur to aggregate services such as Facebook, Twitter and Picasa.
The Iconia A500 tablet demonstrated was running Android 2.2, however Acer confirmed that the device will ship with Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
Acer said it expects to ship the Iconia A500 in April, though did not disclose the price. µ
Acer will get more money back simply by investing what it spent on developing this product on apple shares .
