THE HTC Incredible will arrive in Europe for the first time in the second quarter along with the phone maker's Desire and Wildifire handsets that are being refreshed.

The Incredible S is to launch first, followed by the refreshed Desire S and Wildfire S. Pricing for the UK and carrier details were yet to be confirmed at the time of going to press but we can now say that Orange will have the Desire S and Wildfire S in the second quarter. Sadly still no prices for that network.

The Incredible S has a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD touch screen and Android 2.2, although 2.3 Gingerbread will be made available over-the-air soon after release.

The Incredible S has an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, a 1.3MP front facing camera and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Other specifications including the 1GHz processor and 1.1GB of internal memory remain similar to the Desire S and the handset will weigh in at 135g.

The refreshed Desire S meanwhile is to come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, retains its 3.7-inch WVGA display with 480x800 resolution and has a 1GHz processor, which was present in its predecessor, the Desire HD.

The handset will be the first in the Desire range to sport a unibody design. This means that the handset will be crafted out of a single block of aluminium, following in the footsteps of the HTC Legend.

Other features include micro SD card support, a front-facing VGA camera to enable video calling and a 5MP camera. Although the 1.1GB of internal memory is likely to disappoint enterprise users.

The refreshed Wildfire S will be the sequel to the highly popular budget Android device and will also ship with Android 2.3, Gingerbread. At 105g, the Wildfire S is nearly 20g lighter than the original and will be powered by a slightly faster 600MHz processor.

HTC has also upgraded the display from QVGA to HVGA, which doubles the resolution to 320x480, the manufacturer said. The handset will retain the 5MP camera with auto focus and flash and is also expected to retain its budget price tag.

Interestingly, none of the devices will have NFC integration, which was introduced to smartphones by the Google Nexus S. µ
