MOBILE OPERATOR Three has added three tablets to its range, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Commtiva N700 and Dell Inspiron Duo.
The firm is not just making these tablet computers available for idle-fingered home browsers, but it is also offering them some fresh connectivity options, or if you prefer, charges.
The tablets, a mix of two Android OS units and the Windows 7 based Dell model, weigh in at stores with a £25 per month tariff, plus a charge for the hardware.
The Windows Home Premium 7 Dell tablet will set you back £49.99, the Commtiva £99.99, and the Samsung Tab £149.99.
"With the tablet market going from strength to strength, we're proud to be ranging three of the hottest tablets on the market at the moment", said David Kerrigan, head of mobile broadband at Three.
"These devices are ideal to take out and about with you and our generous data allowances and great coverage mean you can keep using your tablet whenever you need it."
Three is the first UK mobile operator to be offering the Commtiva unit, and anyone that takes up its £99, plus £25 a month offer will get a 15GB a month data allowance. The contract runs for 24 months.
The Commtiva tablet has a 7-inch capacitive WVGA 800x480 touchscreen and runs the Android 2.2 operating system. µ
I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, but even in the US a data only plan is $25 for 2GB. Here in the UK I can get the same allowance for £5. How much money to people spend frivolously to get internet access at home?
TABLETS ARE TOO BIG TO USE AS A PHONE, YET THEY HAVE A SIM CARD. I SUPPOSE THE PURPOSE OF THE CONNECTIVITY IS FOR REMOTE INTERNET ACCESS, OR MAYBE IF THE TABLET HAS BLUETOOTH YOU COULD USE IT AS A PHONE WITH A BLUETOOTH EAR PIECE.
MY POINT IS, THESE CELL SERVICES COST LIKE $50 A MONTH OR MORE. THATS A HEAP OF MONEY TO BLOW SO FRIVOLOUSLY, DONT YOU AGREE? IS EVERYONE DRINKING THIS SAME KOOL AIDE?
I DONT LIKE KOOL AIDE.
