THE MAKER of very expensive printer ink has trademarked more names for its upcoming tablets.
The outfit is rumoured to be making three tablets, but clearly it can't make its mind up and is trademarking every name it can think of.
Hacks from Pocketnow have been scouring the US Patent and Trademark Office website and have managed to find five possible brands.
These include "HP Duopad," "HP Touchslate," and "HP Touchcanvas" "HP Touchpad" and PalmPad.
We are noticing a move towards pads again. It seems that HP has not learnt from the fiasco that was the Ipad, which branded a gadget with a name that sounded like a sanitary towel.
Duopad is probably for those with multiple personalities, Touchslate will work for roofing experts and Touchcanvas is possibly a tablet to take camping. All up, these names are pretty uninspired.
Of course they could also be names that HP is in the process of choosing among and most of them will probably be forgotten. µ
They are crying all the way to the bank, I'm sure.
All the magazines say that the iPad is the best tablet computer ever, past, present, and future. Since it is mostly useless, I suppose that all the other ones are, too.
I will be looking for a tablet with GPS and a "You Have Got On The Wrong Bus" Alarm app, please. It can be a very serious matter in Glasgow when you find yourself somewhere that definitely is Glasgow but not a part that you remember ever seeing before.
EPIC FAIL has already been reserved for the Intel/hp Itanic processor.
Can we get OpenVMS/Alpha on a tablet, please?
hp palmfaced
shutdown -hP now
HPad should be obvious.
PALM has been forgotten. The Fiasco that was the Palm Pre, Pre Plus, and Pre 2 have been made irrelevant as former Palm customers have moved on to Android and iPhone. And all HP has going for it are Tablets? By the time they make it to market, the iPad 2, Playbook, and Motorola Xoom will already be in the hands of consumers. Epic FAIL on HP's part.
