Bartz might have to eat her shorts

Yahoo does badly
Wed Jan 26 2011, 09:51

HIGHLY PAID CEO of Yahoo, Carol Bartz is trying to do her best to spray paint silver onto some really dark clouds today.

Bartz had a plan that forming a pact with Microsoft to use Bing as Yahoo's search engine and share advertising would turn the company around.

Unfortunately for Bartz it looks like it will take a bit longer for that idea to pay off, if it ever does, though she had bet that it would be a quick fix for the company.

Yahoo is now watching as its pageviews decline, and while its profits are better than Wall Street doomwatchers had predicted, growth is still something that happens to other companies.

Bartz is telling the world plus dog that revenue growth will return in 2011's second half once Yahoo's tie-up with Microsoft takes off.

In the meantime she is telling more Yahoo staff to clean out their desks with more redundencies announced for the second time in six weeks.

Bartz said that Yahoo is "getting momentum", although that could equally be said by a lemming as it makes its final big run toward the cliff edge.

We suspect that knives are starting to be sharpened in the back rooms at Yahoo. We advise Bartz to steer clear of people with lean and hungry looks and under no circumstances stand under the statue of Pompey the Great. Perhaps she should also take a holiday on March 15. µ

Loved it

Brilliant article, Nick !
Loved the lemmings reference the most, but it is a great read from start to finish.
Keep up the good work !

Gaining momentum

Sure! They're gaining momentum in firing people. One of these days she'll have to fire herself because of this momentum....
