DUKE NUKEM FOREVER, the long awaited next installment in the babes, bullets and booms game's franchise is almost upon us.
The game will be released on 6 May internationally and in the US a couple of days before then. Although the game started appearing for pre-order earlier today, the official word was confirmed this afternoon in an understated announcement from the game's developer.
"Today I am proud, humbled and even astounded to announce that the day is coming at last for all gamers to be a part of video game history: Duke Nukem Forever will launch worldwide this May!" said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software.
Some players will get a chance to try the demo early, according to Gearbox. Apparently all you need to do is buy a copy of Borderlands, game of the year edition, and get a membership certificate, and - we assume - cross your fingers.
Those that do will get to enjoy an even madder-capped world than they are used too. Gearbox said that as well as choosing from an array of weapons, players can ogle women, play basketball, lift weights and read nudey magazines, should they ever get bored of killing alien hordes, that is.
The game will be released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC. µ
